Privacy policy

The short version

We collect what we need to run your timer, training, friends and leaderboards — and nothing to sell. There are no ads, and we do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone. Delete your account and your data goes with it.

Account data

When you create an account we store your email address, a display name, and authentication details (we never store your password in plain text). We use your email to sign you in, to send account and billing messages, and — only if you ask — waitlist updates.

Solve & training telemetry

To make the product work, we store the solves and training reps you record: times, move counts, TPS, CFOP phase splits, accuracy, and the per-turn move log of each solve — the sequence and timing of individual turns that lets us reconstruct and replay a solve move by move. This is what powers analytics, replays, and the fair-play check that decides whether a solve can count on a public leaderboard.

Your cube device registry

When you connect a smart cube, we remember it so it reconnects smoothly and so your solves are attributed to the right cube. That registry can include the name you give a cube, its brand and model, and its Bluetooth identifier (MAC address). You can remove a cube from your registry at any time.

Friends and leaderboards

If you turn on friends and leaderboards, we also store:

• A display name. The app gives you a generated name. It is what friends and public boards show, never your email.
• Your birth month and year, only to work out your age group (13-17, 18-24, 25-39, 40+). We never show them to anyone; others see at most the age group. If the answer is under 13, we keep only a note that social features are not available and do not keep the date.
• Your country, if you choose one, for country boards.
• Your friend code, friends, friend requests and blocks, and any reports you send.
• Your best times, averages and division, worked out from your solves.
• When you accepted the terms and this policy, and which version.

Friends see your display name, division, best times, campaign progress and country (if you chose one). A public leaderboard shows only a rank, a display name and a time, and only when at least 25 players are on that board.

What we do not do

• We do not show ads.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
• We do not use your solve data for anything beyond running and improving cubrs for you.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from the Account panel in the app, or email privacy@cubrs.com from the address on your account and we will do it for you. You can download a copy of your data from the same panel first. Deleting your account removes your profile, your solve and training telemetry (including per-turn move logs), your cube device registry, and your friends and leaderboard entries. Some records may persist briefly in encrypted backups before they age out, and we may keep minimal billing records where the law requires it.

Third parties

We use infrastructure providers to host the service and send account emails. When Pro billing opens we will add a payment provider and list it here. Providers handle data only to provide those services to us, not for their own purposes.
