Where cubrs fits.

csTimer is a legend and we’re not here to dunk on it — a huge share of world-class solves are timed on it, and cubrs borrows its cube-clock timing math openly. This page is just an honest map of what each tool is built for, so you can pick the right one.

The short version: most of these are excellent timers or analyzers. cubrs is the one built around competition — one account across cube brands, automatic phase splits, an alg trainer timed by move completion, and live rated head-to-head with spectators.

csTimer

The reference timer for competitive speedcubing: endlessly configurable, every WCA event, excellent scramble handling, and genuine smart-cube support with the linear-fit timing that cubrs also uses. If you want the deepest, most trusted stopwatch on the web, it’s csTimer. What it isn’t is account-based or social — there are no synced profiles across cube brands, no move-completion alg trainer, and no live rated racing. cubrs is what you add when you want those.

Twisty Timer

A clean, well-loved Android timer with solid session tracking and algorithm references. It’s touch-timed rather than hands-free, and it’s Android-only. If your phone is your timer and you like it simple, Twisty Timer is great. cubrs is for people who want the cube itself to drive the clock and to compete online.

GAN Cube Station

GAN’s official app for their own cubes — good hands-free timing and a polished 3D view, tuned tightly to GAN hardware. It’s the natural first app if you own a GAN cube. cubrs works with GAN too, but keeps one account across GAN, GoCube, QiYi, GiiKER and MoYu, adds automatic phase splits, and layers on rated competition GAN’s app doesn’t attempt.

Cubeast

The strongest analytics tool in this list: detailed solve reconstruction, phase breakdowns, and training insight, with a polished subscription product. If deep solo analysis is your goal, Cubeast is excellent. cubrs overlaps on splits and training but is pointed at live, rated play — leagues, tournaments, and head-to-head races with spectators.

This browser can’t reach your cube.

cūbrs talks to smart cubes over Web Bluetooth, which lives in Chrome, Edge, and Opera on desktop. Safari and Firefox don’t ship it, and iPhones and iPads can’t run it at all — that’s Apple’s call, not ours.

One email with the link, nothing else. Or open the app anyway if you know your browser supports Web Bluetooth.
